Glenfiddich 12 Year

This classic Speyside from Glenfiddich was the Winner of a Gold Medal at the 2007 International Wine and Spirit Competition, aged for 12 years in American and European Oak casks.

Nose: Grain. Slightly floral, mineralic. Spirity, orchard fruit, malty, honey. Citrus develops.

Palate: Light, floral, spices. Very smooth.

Finish: Sweet, touch of oak and general fruit, oily.

Overall: Stereotypical Speyside. Consistent - a good benchmark.

Glenfiddich 18 Year

Ancient Reserve stands as the flagship from the core Glenfiddich range. This 18 year old was matured in a mix of Oloroso sherry and bourbon casks.

Glenfiddich 18 Tasting Note

Nose: Loads of fruit. Zesty grapefruit, apples. Dry wood.

Palate: Candied fruits, spicy, toffee, ginger, sherry, syrupy.

Finish: Peels, spices, sherry, sweet ginger, touch of salted toffee.

Overall: More interesting, one-dimensioned, but a very enjoyable dimension it is.

Glenlivet 12 Year

The entry level bottling from the illustrious Glenlivet distillery at Speyside's heart, aged for 12 years. The archetypal Speyside dram, honey and orchard fruit driven.

The nose is full and rich. There is a sweet creamy vanilla with warm pastries and toffee, fudge notes and aniseed. A strong toasty cereal notes emerges with a touch of oak. The palate is quite thick and warm. There is a thick aniseed note with dried peels and fudge. The finish is long and warming.

Glenlivet 18 Year

This excellent 18 year old single malt from Glenlivet is a classic Speyside dram, it also won two golds at the International Wine and Spirit Competition.

The nose is quite big and well-rounded. There are notes of chewy sultanas and sherried peels, barley sugars and toasty cereals with petals and apple blossom. A touch of fudge and gentle wisps of smoke. The palate is full and rich with notes of chewy, tannic oak. Manuka honey and walnut with Cox’s apples and orange peels. Cut herbs; fennel and spearmint. The finish is long and dry with a spicy oak note.

Johnny Walker Blue Label

Nose: smoke, dried fruit, oak, liquorice, cream.

Palate: Initial peppery tase reveals allspice, crisp malt, toffee smoke which reveals itself as the whisky opens.

Finish: Long, smoky, but also spicy fruits.
